The West LA Birth Doula
Leica Jones trained as a birth doula through DONA International in 2019, after which she volunteered as an in-hospital birth doula at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City before moving (back) to West LA in September 2020.
After experiencing the magic of childbirth and the blessing of having a doula through the birth of her first child, the birth doula path became a clear choice for her. Leica is passionate about the process of birth and about helping birth parents have the best possible experience through preparation, education, and continuous support. Leica believes that all who want a birth doula present at their birth should be able to have one and will do what she can to ensure that that happens.
During 2021, she served on the Board of Directors for the Doulas Association of Southern California (DASC), and still volunteers with them currently. During the pandemic, Leica embraced the art of offering virtual support while hospitals were not allowing birth doulas to attend with their clients, and plans to continue offering this service to those interested in a more budget friendly option.
When she’s not helping families bring little ones into this world, Leica enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, organizing, reading four or five books at a time, planning out her days to get as much done as possible, and being out in the sunshine.
